Superleague Round 7: Mahram lose to Kerman

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Round 7 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Mahram (5-2). They were edged by seventh ranked Kerman (4-3) 90-89 on Monday night. Kerman moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Zob Ahan. Mahram at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. They share it with Parsa. They were replaced at the leadership position by Gorgan. Mahram will play next round against Sanaye trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Kerman will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Parsa in Mashhad.
Bottom-ranked Raad (0-7) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their seventh consecutive match to fourth ranked Parsa (5-2) 76-70. Parsa have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Mahram. Raad at the other side still closes the standings with seven games lost. Parsa will play against Kerman (#6) at home in the next round. Raad will play against Rafsanjan (#11) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
The game in Arak supposed to be also quite interesting. Third ranked Gorgan (6-1) played at the court of 6th ranked Arak (3-4). Gorgan smashed Arak 86-61 on Monday. Gorgan have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Kalleh. Newly promoted Arak dropped to the eighth place with four games lost. Gorgan will meet at home league's second-placed Kalleh in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Arak will play against Azarshahr (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 7: Zob Ahan lost to Kalleh on the opponent's court 78-84. Naft Abadan managed to outperform Rafsanjan in a home game 84-78. Azarshahr managed to beat Sanaye on the road 85-81.



Kalleh - Zob Ahan 84-78

Rather expected game in Amol where 5th ranked Zob Ahan (4-3) was defeated by second ranked Kalleh (6-1) 84-78 on Monday. Kalleh keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Gorgan. Loser Zob Ahan keeps the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with Kerman. Kalleh will meet league's leader Gorgan on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Zob Ahan will play against Naft Abadan (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Rather predictable result when eighth ranked Naft Abadan (3-3) defeated at home 11th ranked Rafsanjan (1-6) 84-78 on Monday. Naft Abadan moved-up to seventh place. Rafsanjan lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with six games lost. Naft Abadan will meet higher ranked Zob Ahan (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rafsanjan will play against Raad (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Sanaye - Azarshahr 81-85

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Bandar Abbass where 9th ranked Sanaye (2-4) was defeated by tenth ranked Azarshahr (2-5) 85-81 on Monday. Newly promoted Azarshahr maintains tenth place with 2-5 record. Loser Sanaye keeps the ninth position with four games lost. Azarshahr will meet at home higher ranked Arak (#8) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sanaye will play against Mahram in Tehran and hope to secure a win.
