Superleague Round 5: No surprise as #1 Mahram defeat Azarshahr- October 13, 2022
The round 5 was rather boring as all games ended with very predictable results. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
Parsa - Naft Abadan 72-67 Very expected game in Mashhad where 9th ranked Naft Abadan (1-3) was defeated by fifth ranked Parsa (3-2) 72-67. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Parsa maintains fifth place with 3-2 record, which they share with Arak. Naft Abadan lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth position with three games lost. Parsa will play against league's leader Mahram in Tehran in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Naft Abadan will play at home against Raad (#12) to get more than just one victory in their record. Rafsanjan - Arak 65-73 Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Arak (3-2) defeated on the road 11th ranked Rafsanjan (1-4) 73-65. The victory was the third consecutive win for Arak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Parsa. Rafsanjan at the other side dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. They share it with Azarshahr. Arak will play against higher ranked Zob Ahan (#4) in Esfahan in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rafsanjan will play on the road against the league's second-placed Kalleh (#2) in Amol to get more than just one victory in their record. Raad - Kalleh 77-106 Leader Kalleh blasted bottom-ranked Raad (0-5) in Mashhad 106-77 keeping the perfect record after 5 rounds. Raad is still unable to win any game. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Kalleh. Newly promoted Kalleh maintains second place with 4-0 record behind leader Mahram. Raad lost their fifth game in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. Kalleh will play against Rafsanjan (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Raad will play against Naft Abadan and hopes to get finally their first victory. Gorgan - Kerman 64-43 Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Kerman (2-3) was rolled over on the road by third ranked Gorgan (3-1) 64-43. Defending champion maintains third place with 3-1 record having just three points less than leader Mahram, which they share with Zob Ahan. Kerman at the other side dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Gorgan will play against Sanaye (#8) in Bandar Abbass in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Kerman will play at home against Azarshahr and hopes to get back on the winning track. Azarshahr - Mahram 68-74 Superleague top team - Mahram (5-0) added another victory to their record on Thursday. This time they beat tenth ranked Azarshahr (1-4) 74-68. Mahram have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 5-0 record. Azarshahr lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with four games lost. They share it with Rafsanjan. Mahram are looking forward to face Parsa (#5) in Mashhad in the next round. Azarshahr will play on the road against Kerman (#7) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series. Zob Ahan - Sanaye 85-72 Everything went according to plan in Esfahan where fourth ranked Zob Ahan (3-1) beat 8th ranked Sanaye (1-2) 85-72. Zob Ahan moved-up to third place, which they share with Gorgan. Sanaye at the other side keeps the eighth position with two games lost. Zob Ahan will play against Arak (#6) on the road in the next round. Sanaye will play against Gorgan to get more than just one victory in their record. |
