Superleague Round 4: Gorgan lose to Mahram- October 11, 2022

Mahram - Gorgan 98-82 The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Gorgan (2-1) in Tehran on Monday night. Visitors were defeated by Mahram (4-0) 98-82. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gorgan. Mahram have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record. Defending champion Gorgan dropped to the third place with one game lost. They share the position with Zob Ahan. Mahram are looking forward to face Azarshahr (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gorgan will play against Kerman (#6) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident. Kerman - Zob Ahan 59-71 Kerman (#4) was upset in Kerman by seventh ranked Zob Ahan 71-59. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kerman. Zob Ahan (2-1) moved-up to third place, which they share with Gorgan. Kerman at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with Parsa and Arak. Zob Ahan will play against Sanaye (#8) in Bandar Abbass in the next round where they are favorite. Kerman will play on the road against Gorgan and it may be a tough game between close rivals. Arak - Raad 79-68 The game between closely ranked teams ended with bottom-ranked Raad's (0-4) road loss to tenth ranked Arak (2-2) 68-79 on Monday. Arak moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Parsa and Kerman. Loser Raad still closes the standings with four games lost. Arak will meet Rafsanjan (#11) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Raad will play against the league's second-placed Kalleh and hopes to get finally their first victory. Naft Abadan - Kalleh 78-84 Rather predictable result when top-ranked Kalleh (3-0) defeated on the road 6th ranked Naft Abadan (1-2) 84-78 on Monday. Kalleh have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Loser Naft Abadan dropped to the ninth position with two games lost. Kalleh will meet bottom-ranked Raad (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Naft Abadan will play against Parsa in Mashhad and hope to win that game. Sanaye - Rafsanjan 62-74 Rafsanjan has registered their first victory this season after three consecutive losses. The win is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Sanaye (1-1) on the road game in Bandar Abbass 74-62 on Monday. Rafsanjan (1-3) left bottom position moving up to tenth place, which they share with Azarshahr. Loser Sanaye dropped to the eighth position with one game lost. Rafsanjan will meet at home higher ranked Arak (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Sanaye will play against Zob Ahan in Esfahan and hope to win that game. Azarshahr - Parsa 57-58 Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Parsa and 9th ranked Azarshahr had identical 1-2 record. But Azarshahr was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Mashhad 58-57 on Monday night. Parsa (2-2) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Kerman and Arak. Azarshahr lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the tenth position with three games lost. They share it with Rafsanjan. Parsa will meet at home Naft Abadan (#9) in the next round. Azarshahr will play against the league's leader Mahram and hope to win that game. |
