Superleague Round 11 (Second Stage): Naft Abadan beat Sanaye by two after a very close game- March 13, 2022

Naft Abadan - Sanaye 86-84 The most exciting game of round 11 in the Superleague took place in Abadan. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Sanaye (5-15) to third ranked Naft Abadan (6-14) 86-84 in the game for the third place. Naft Abadan forced 21 Sanaye turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by Sanaye helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international guard Ehsan Dalirzahan (186-2000) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international Reza Ranjbar contributed with 9 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Ukrainian center Kyrylo Fesenko (215-1986, agency: BIG) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 21 rebounds and forward Mohammad Yazdanpanah (201-1995) added 18 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Sanaye. Four Sanaye players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. First ranked Zob Ahan had an easy win 84-61. Zob Ahan dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Foolad's 24. They outrebounded Foolad 44-31 including 36 on the defensive glass. Zob Ahan players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a great evening for the former international Arsalan Kazemi (200-1990, college: Oregon, agency: BIG) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds. The former international point guard Farid Aslani (183-1988) helped adding 19 points and 9 assists. Four Zob Ahan players scored in double figures. American point guard Ali Mousavi (183) responded with 8 points and 6 rebounds and Amirhosein Mojiri scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zob Ahan have an impressive series of fourteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 18-2 record, which they share with Chemidor. Newly promoted Foolad keeps the second position with 12 games lost. Third ranked Parsa had an easy win 89-46. Parsa dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Khouzestan's 18. They outrebounded Khouzestan 45-16 including a 32-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. Parsa looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Khouzestan's players. It was an exceptional evening for the former international guard Morteza Taheri (189-1996) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Majid Sadeghi accounted for 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Four Parsa players scored in double figures. Abolfazl Ghaderian came up with 6 points and 6 rebounds and Arash Sabeti added 11 points respectively for Khouzestan in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Parsa moved-up to second place, which they share with Kerman. Khouzestan lost their eighth game in a row. They keep the fourth position with 17 games lost. Mahram forced 19 Kerman turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. Mahram looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Kerman's players. It was an exceptional evening for American-Ukrainian point guard Jerome Randle (175-1987, college: California) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 assists. American DaJuan Summers (203-1988, college: Georgetown, agency: BIG) accounted for 20 points for the winning side. Four Mahram players scored in double figures. American guard Isaiah Williams (188-1995, college: Georgia St., agency: BIG) came up with 11 points and 4 assists and the former international center Asghar Kardoust (212-1986, agency: BIG) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Kerman in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Mahram. They maintain first place with 17-3 record, which they share with Gorgan. Loser Kerman keeps the second position with nine games lost. They share it with Parsa.
