Superleague Round 4 (Second Stage): Mahram is defeated by Parsa

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Mahram (13-3) in Mashhad on Tuesday night. Visitors were edged by third ranked Parsa (8-8) 85-83. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Mahram. 25 personal fouls committed by Mahram helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Brian Starr (190-96, college: Towson) who helped to win the game recording 28 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!) and the former international forward Navid Khajezadeh (196-96) who added 18 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Parsa's coach Srdjan Jovanovic used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American power forward Elijah Holman (208-89, college: Detroit) responded with 22 points and 9 rebounds. Parsa maintains third position with 8-8 record having five points less than leader Gorgan, which they share with Kouchin. Mahram at the other side still keeps top place with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Important game to mention about took place in Bandar Abbass. Fourth ranked Sanaye (4-12) saved a 3-point victory at home edging much higher ranked Foolad (7-9) 80-77 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Foolad. The winners were led by forward Mohammad Yazdanpanah (201-95) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks and Kyrylo Fesenko supported him with 9 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Even 13 points and 4 assists by the former international point guard Mohammad Bahram (180-98) did not help to save the game for Foolad. Foolad's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Sanaye moved-up to third place, which they share with Naft Abadan and Raad. Newly promoted Foolad keeps the second position with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

In the last game of round 4 Zob Ahan won against Naft Abadan on the opponent's court 83-75.

The former international Arman Zangeneh (202-93, agency: BIG) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. The former international M Reza Akbari (196-86) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international Reza Ranjbar produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds and the former international guard Ehsan Dalirzahan (186-0) added 18 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Five Zob Ahan and four Naft Abadan players scored in double figures. Naft Abadan's coach Ali Towfigh let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game.
