Superleague Round 1 (Second Stage): Chemidor beat Niroo Zamini in a derby game

The Second Stage in Superleague just started. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tehran: Chemidor and Niroo Zamini. Chemidor crushed visiting Niroo Zamini by 20 points 83-63. Chemidor dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Niroo Zamini's 26. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Niroo Zamini's players. Nigerian power forward Alade Aminu (207-87, college: Georgia Tech) fired 21 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners. American point guard Dwight Buycks (191-89, college: Marquette) chipped in 21 points and 5 assists. Reza Sabagh produced 16 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Chemidor is looking forward to face Raad in Mashhad in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Niroo Zamini will play at home against Sirjan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Worth to mention a great performance of Jalal Aghamiri (, agency: Domantay Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds. Darko Balaban contributed with 16 points and 14 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Majid Rahimian answered with 21 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals for Rafsanjan. Rafsanjan's coach rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Kouchin will play against Gorgan at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Rafsanjan will play against Exxon SC in Teheran and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Christopher Evans stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. At the losing side Ali Kashani responded with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gorgan will meet Kouchin in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Exxon SC will play against Rafsanjan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 1 Raad was crushed by Sirjan in a road game 74-54.

Rafsanjan - Kouchin 76-94

An exciting game was played in Rafsanjan. Kouchin faced Rafsanjan. Guests from Amol defeated host Rafsanjan 94-76. Kouchin dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Rafsanjan's 28. They outrebounded Rafsanjan 57-27 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds.
