Superleague Round 24: Rafsanjan lose to Mahram in the game between Top 4 teams- January 1, 2022

Mahram - Rafsanjan 82-67 The game between Top Four teams took place in Tehran. Second ranked host Mahram (10-2) defeated one of their biggest challengers Rafsanjan (8-4) 82-67. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Rafsanjan. Mahram dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Rafsanjan's 20. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Saeid Davarpanah (190-87, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and American power forward Elijah Holman (208-89, college: Detroit) who added 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Vahid Eslami (197) with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and Yaghoub Shalooshi scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mahram maintains second position with 10-2 record having just one point less than leader Chemidor. Rafsanjan at the other side keeps the third place with four games lost. Sanaye outrebounded Raad 52-41 including 37 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Sanaye made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was Ukrainian center Kyrylo Fesenko (215-86, agency: BIG) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 20 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks. The former international swingman Ali Jamshidi (196-85) chipped in 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Eshagh Hatamifar who recorded 13 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals and M Talari added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Raad's coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Sanaye maintains eighth position with 2-9 record. Loser Raad keeps the fifth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Foolad. First ranked host Chemidor (12-1) defeated 4th ranked Parsa (6-7) 76-66. The winners were led by the former international center Mohammad Yousofvand (207-96, agency: BIG) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and the former international guard Navid Rezaeifar (185-96) supported him with 22 points. Four Chemidor players scored in double figures. Even 19 points and 6 rebounds by Serbian guard Luka Andjusic (197-94, college: California, PA) did not help to save the game for Parsa. American point guard Brian Starr (190-96, college: Towson) added 17 points. Chemidor have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-1 record. Parsa at the other side keeps the fourth place with seven games lost. Foolad forced 22 Exxon SC turnovers. The best player for the winners was Payam Kiani who scored 32 points and 9 rebounds. Farhad Sabouri (204-91) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Four Foolad players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Behshad Arabzadeh (195-0) who recorded 17 points and 4 assists and Ali Kashani (186-0) added 16 points respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Foolad moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Raad. Exxon SC lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with ten games lost.
