Best players of Iranian Superleague round 22

Meisam Mirzaei

Former international Center Meisam Mirzaei (210-C-92) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's leader Gorgan and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 22.
The 29-year old center had a double-double of 19 points and seventeen rebounds, while his team edged out Kouchin (#5, 7-4) 88-86. It allowed Gorgan to consolidate first place in the Iranian Superleague. Gorgan has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 10-1. It was one of impressive evenings for Mirzaei as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Mirzaei has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 9.9rpg) and averages solid 54.1% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Arash Sabeti of Khouzestan. Sabeti impressed basketball fans with 28 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. It was enough for Khouzestan to edge Niroo Zamini (#8, 0-13) by 4 points 73-69. This victory allowed Khouzestan to move up to 6th position in Group A. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-6 record. Sabeti is well-known by Khouzestan fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.4ppg (#2). He also registered 5.6 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Isaiah Williams (188-G-95, agency: BIG) of Kerman (#3). Williams showcased his all-around game by recording 24 points, six rebounds and seven assists in the last round. He was a key player of Kerman, leading his team to a 100-83 easy win against the lower-ranked Naft Abadan (#7, 3-9). Kerman needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in Group A. Their record at this point is 8 victories and 5 lost games. Williams has a great season in Iran. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.5ppg (4th best). Williams attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.
