Majid Rahimian had a very impressive game in the last round for Rafsanjan and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 20.
He had the game-high 18 points adding eight rebounds and four assists for Rafsanjan in his team's victory, helping them to beat Foolad (#7, 2-8) 81-74. Rafsanjan maintains the 3rd position in their group in Iranian league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Rafsanjan will need more victories to improve their 7-3 record. In the team's last game Rahimian had a remarkable 55.6% from 2-point range. He turned to be Rafsanjan's top player in his first season with the team. Majid Rahimian averages this season 12.4ppg and 6.0rpg.
Second best performed player last round was Brian Starr (190-PG-96) of Parsa. He is American guard in his first season at Parsa. In the last game Starr recorded impressive 16 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. It was enough for Parsa to edge slightly higher-ranked Mahram (#2, 8-2) by 3 points 74-71. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in Group B. Parsa consolidated its place in top 4 of the standings. His team's 6-5 record is not bad at all. Starr is a newcomer at Parsa and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. Former Towson University star Starr is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.
Third place about best performers goes to Amirhossein Azari (193-SF-98) of league's leader Chemidor. Azari scored 17 points and passed five assists. He was a key player of Chemidor, leading his team to a 90-69 easy win against the lower-ranked Sanaye (#8, 1-8). Many experts and fans count Chemidor as a contender for championship title. Another victory and another confirmation that they may be right. Just look at their record: 10 victories and only one lost game. They are currently at the very top of the standings in Group B. Azari has a very solid season. In 10 games in Iran he scored 8.8ppg.
