Superleague Round 19: Derby game ends with Parsa's defeat of Raad

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Mashhad: Parsa (#4) and Raad (#5). Parsa (5-5) won against visiting Raad (3-6) 87-82. Parsa dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Raad's 28. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Navid Khajezadeh (196-96) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 5 rebounds. The former international guard Morteza Taheri (189-96) contributed with 12 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Parsa's coach Srdjan Jovanovic used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Power forward Ali Rineh (202-97) answered with 31 points and 9 rebounds for Raad. Parsa maintains fourth place with 5-5 record. Raad lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with six games lost. Parsa are looking forward to face league's second-placed Mahram in Tehran in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Raad will play at home against Exxon SC and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
