Best players of Iranian Superleague round 11 (by Hoops Agents)

Experienced American-Guinea-Bissau Perry Petty (185-PG-88) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader Gorgan and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 33-year old playmaker had a double-double of 30 points and twelve rebounds, while his team edged out Naft Abadan (#7, 1-5) 74-70. It allowed Gorgan to consolidate first place in the Iranian Superleague. Gorgan have a solid 6-1 record. In the team's last game Petty had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 10 attempts. He has many years of experience at Gorgan, through which he has constantly improved. University of Texas Rio Grande Valley graduate has very impressive stats this year. Petty is in league's top in points (2nd best: 21.5ppg) and averages solid 62.2% FGP. Worth to mention Petty played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 31-year old former international Arsalan Kazemi (200-SF-90, agency: BIG) of Zob Ahan. Kazemi impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 16 points and 14 rebounds. Bad luck as Zob Ahan lost that game 69-80 to slightly higher-ranked Kouchin (4-3). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in Group A. Zob Ahan still maintains its place in the top 4 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 4-3 record is not bad at all. Kazemi is a newcomer at Zob Ahan and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.6ppg (#8). His other stats are also decent: 13.4rpg and 3.7apg.

The third best performed player last round was Russian Anton Ponkrashov (200-G-86) of second-ranked Sirjan. Ponkrashov showcased his all-around game by recording 17 points, nine rebounds and eight assists in the last round. He was a key player of Sirjan, leading his team to a 80-43 easy win against Niroo Zamini (#8, 0-7). Ponkrashov has a great season in Iran. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 5.3apg (2nd best).
