Iranian Superleague round 7 best performance: Meisam Mirzaei (by Hoops Agents)

Former international Center Meisam Mirzaei (210-C-92) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Gorgan, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 29-year old player had a double-double of 15 points and 15 rebounds, while his team crushed Khouzestan (#6, 1-1) with 21-point margin 91-70. It allowed Gorgan to consolidate first place in the Iranian Superleague. Gorgan have a solid 5-1 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Mirzaei as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Meisam Mirzaei has solid league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (9th best: 9.2rpg) and averages impressive 62.5% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was Arash Sabeti of Khouzestan. Sabeti had a very good evening with 41 points and 8 rebounds. Bad luck as Khouzestan lost that game 70-91 to the higher-ranked Gorgan (#1, 5-1). Despite lost game Khouzestan moved up to 6th position in Group A. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 1-1 record is not bad and everything may still change. Sabeti is well-known at Khouzestan and is a proven leader in his second season with the team.

Third on the list of top players last round was former international forward Matin Aghajanpoor (199-PF-01) of Kouchin (#5). Aghajanpoor scored 24 points and passed four assists. He was a key player of Kouchin, leading his team to a 80-59 easy win against Niroo Zamini (#8, 0-6). The chances of Kouchin ranking at the top of Group A, however are very questionable as they have already lost 3 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Aghajanpoor could help Kouchin to bring them higher in the standings. Aghajanpoor has a great season in Iran. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.2ppg (best scorer).
