Vrkic is back at Exxon Sport Club

Zoran Vrkic

Exxon Sport Club (Superleague) agreed terms with 33-year old Croatian ex-international power forward Zoran Vrkic (203-87, agency: SDJ Sports). He is the second import player in the roster as USA Corin Henry signed here earlier.
It is actually Vrkic's comeback to Teheran as he has played here before. He already started the season at Patrioti Levice in Slovakian SBL league, but left the team in Oct.'20. In 6 games he had 11.3ppg, 2.2rpg, 1.7apg and 1.0spg this season. The last season Vrkic played at Al-Manama (Premier League) in Bahrain league. He helped them to win the regular season. Vrkic also played for Exxon in Iranian Superleague where in 16 games he recorded very impressive stats: 19.3ppg, 5.7rpg and 2.4apg. Great season as he was named to Asia-Basket.com All-Iranian Superleague 2nd Team, All-Imports Team and League Player of the Week. The other team Vrkic played shortly was Plateros de Fresnillo in Mexican LNBP. In two games he averaged 8.5ppg and 6.5rpg.
Vrkic was a member of Croatian international program for some years. He was called to Croatian Senior National Team back in 2011 and previously for U20 National Team between 2006 and 2007.
Vrkic is quite experienced player. His career allowed him to visit three different continents, while he played in nine different countries. Vrkic tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Asia and Latin America. He has played previously professionally in France (Nantes), Greece (Peristeri GS Athens), Italy (Lavoropiu Fortitudo Bologna), Romania (CS Dinamo Stiinta Bucuresti), Slovenia (Petrol Olimpija Ljubljana), Spain (Bilbao, Gipuzkoa and Oviedo), Taiwan (Kinmen Kaoliang Liquor), Croatia (Split, Zadar, Jolly, KK Dubrovnik and Sibenik) and North Macedonia (Karpos Sokoli).
On Vrkic: A swing forward, he can play in both the forward positions, has good shooting range and rebounding ability.
