After 40 minutes of fighting strongly against one of the greatest teams in Iran Women's Basketball Super League, Girls of Namino Isfahan could finally beat Palayesh Naft Abadan 67 to 60 and earning the shiny bronze medals.
Namino started strong in the third game, having the lead for almost the entire four quarters except the first two minutes. They could even lead the game by 11 in the third quarter, yet the struggles from Naft didn't let them enjoy an easy win, fighting until the last seconds.
Despite the loss for Naft, Faeze Shahriari (#77) perfected her season by being the star for her team with 17 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 assists. Alongside her. Farzane Foroutanfard (#14), Naft's strong power forward, also recorded another double double with 16 points and 13 rebounds.
For Namino, Masoume Esmaeilzade (#17) registered her last double double of the season with 13 points and 13 rebounds along with 5 assists, working perfectly with the team's experienced point guard, Mozhgan Khodadadi (#5) who was the game leader in scoring with 29 points. Khodadadi has ended her career this season incredibly with an average of 17.1 points per game, proving her competency in being the first point guard of Iran Women's National Team. The day also ended perfectly for the young shooting guard of Namino, Anahis Khodaverdian (#16) with 15 points in a perfectly aggressive play in defense as well as 5 assists in the fastbreaks. Khodaverdian acted impressively in the former season as well, finishing with Namino for the second consecutive season.
With Namino in the third place, there would only be 1 (or 2) more games left from the end of the 18th Iran Women's Super League, defining the champions of this season. The final game between Banovan Shahr Gorgan and Bahman Group Tehran is postponed for the time being due to the outbreak of Corona Virus in Iran, but will be played as soon as the issue is resolved. Confrontation of the two teams will be held in Tehran, with Bahman being the host, who leads the series 1-0 (best of three).
