Best players of Iranian Superleague round 22 (by Interperformances)- February 7, 2020
The 32-year old swingman had the game-high 29 points adding seven rebounds and six assists for Naft Abadan in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Chemidor (#4, 17-6) 85-81. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Naft Abadan is placed at 2nd position in Iranian Superleague. They are still close to the very top. Naft Abadan would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 20-5 record. In the team's last game Davarpanah had a remarkable 62.5% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Naft Abadan and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Davarpanah has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (6th best: 20.0ppg) and assists (5th best: 4.7apg). The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 29-year old former international center Masoud Soleimani (207-C-90) of Chemidor. Soleimani impressed basketball fans with 25 points and 9 rebounds. Bad luck as Chemidor was edged by slightly higher-ranked Naft Abadan (#2, 20-5) 85-81. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Chemidor still maintains its place in the top 4 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 17-6 record is not bad at all. Soleimani is a newcomer at Chemidor and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. The third best performed player last round was Sajjad Ghasemi of Army (#14). Ghasemi scored 8 points and grabbed sixteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Ghasemi's great performance Army lost 57-82 to the higher-ranked Kerman (#11, 6-17). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Army can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 2-23 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Ghasemi has a very solid season. In 17 games in Iran he scored 4.9ppg. Other top performing players last week: 4. Cedric Bonga (187-G-85) of Kerman - 22 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists 5. Mostafa Rezaei (197-F-98) of Kerman - 15 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists 6. Ebrahim Beigi (211-C-94) of Raad - 15 points and 10 rebounds 7. Reza Ranjbar) of Naft Abadan - 17 points and 5 rebounds 8. Nemanja Protic (182-PG-86) of Petrochimi - 17 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
