Amayo's 42-point game gives him Interperformances Player of the Week award

27-year old guard Kelvin Amayo (193-G-92) put on an amazing game in the last round for Toufarghan and receives a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 2.
He had the game-high 42 points adding seven rebounds and six assists for Toufarghan in his team's victory, helping them to beat Raad (#12, 0-2), the league's bottom-ranked team 93-85. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Toufarghan is placed at 10th position in Iranian league. Toufarghan is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-1 record. In the team's last game Amayo had a remarkable 61.9% from 2-point range. He turned to be Toufarghan's top player in his first season with the team. Loyola Marymount University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Amayo is league's best scorer averaging so far 29.5ppg. Amayo is in league's top in and averages solid 5.0spg.

Second best performed player last round was Mohammad Hassanzadeh (203-PF-90) of Petrochimi. He is international forward in his first season at Petrochimi. In the last game Hassanzadeh recorded impressive double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds. Of course he led Petrochimi to another comfortable win outscoring Mashad (1-1) 84-43. His team has extremely good start of the season. They won both games so far. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Hassanzadeh is a newcomer at Petrochimi and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to center Mohammad Torabi (211-C-92) of Naft Abadan (#3). Torabi scored 13 points and grabbed fourteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Naft Abadan, leading his team to a 63-58 win against Shahrdari BA (#13, 0-2). Naft Abadan has a very good start of the season. But there were just 2 games played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Torabi also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. Torabi has a great season in Iran. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 11.5rpg (4th best).
