Sanam Takes the First Title in the Iranian Super League
After passing a season of hardworks for all partcipating teams, the 2004-05 Iranian Super League came to its end, crowning Sanam as the Champions of Iran. Sanam thrashed its arch-rival, Saba Battery, 94-79 in the final match on Sunday night. This difference seemed to give a real shock to Saba, which came to this game, almost as an unbeatable team during the whole season. Even Andre Pitts and Lorenzo Hall could not help Saba to survive from the quagmire made by Sanam. It was not Saba's night, too! In the first game on last Thursday, Saba beat Sanam 79-75, but with brilliant performances by Aidin Kabir, Waitari Marsh, and other Sanam players in this game, Saba could go over only for a few minutes, easily giving back the lead to Sanam who could never forget the nightmare of last season, losing the final match of 2003-04 season. Meanwhile, in Isfahan, Zob Ahan was defeated 74-58 in the its second game against Peykan, placing it on third and Zob Ahan on fourth on the final standing of Iranian Super League. The first game on last Thursday also finished 102-73 for Paykan.
