IBL Round 4 (Regular Season): Leader Borneo gets another victory

It's still too early stage of the Regular Season in IBL, but even now we can clearly see the difference between stronger teams and outsiders. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Undefeated leader Borneo delivered the third consecutive win on Sunday night. This time they beat bottom-ranked Kesatria (0-3) 82-66 in Pontianak. Borneo dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Kesatria's 34. Borneo looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American guard Stephaun Branch (196-1995, college: UWG) fired 25 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals for the winners. The other American import forward Travin Thibodeaux (203-1996, college: New Orleans) chipped in 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. American Kentrell Barkley (194-1996, college: ECU, agency: Haylett Sports) produced 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Borneo have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 3-0 record, which they share with Satria Muda and Rajawali. Kesatria at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with Pacific Caesar. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Rajawali have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Satria Muda and Borneo. Loser Pacific Caesar still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with Kesatria. Rajawali will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Pacific Caesar will play against Dewa United (#5) in Tangerang and looks forward to get finally their first victory.

In the last two games of round 4 Hangtuah defeated RANS PIK in Jakarta 71-58. RANS PIK lost to undefeated Satria Muda at home 64-79.

There was a minor upset in Gor Merpati where their close opponent RANS PIK (1-2) was defeated by seventh ranked Hangtuah (2-2) 71-58 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Nick Hornsby (201-1995, college: Sacramento St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds and U.S. Virgin Islands power forward Rakeem Christmas (206-1991, college: Syracuse) who added 30 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American-Mexican forward Aaron Fuller (198-1989, college: USC, agency: Haylett Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 18 rebounds and American forward KJ Buffen (201-2000, college: UAB, agency: Diamond Sports) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hangtuah moved-up to sixth place. Loser RANS PIK keeps the seventh position with two games lost. Brown is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Satria Muda players scored in double figures. Satria Muda's coach Djordje Jovicic used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest.
