Hangtuah keeps Christmas for another season

Rakeem Christmas

Amartha Hangtuah Jakarta (IBL) re-signed 33-year old U.S. Virgin Islands ex-international 206cm power forward Rakeem Christmas (college: Syracuse). He is the second foreign player in the roster as USA Adonys Henriquez signed here earlier.
In 2015 he was drafted by Minnesota Timberwolves (NBA) in second round (36th overall). The former Syracuse University standout is in his tenth season in pro basketball. He was a member of U.S. Virgin Islands Senior National Team between 2021 and 2022.
Christmas is a very experienced player. Thanks to Christmas' pro career he managed to play on five different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, Australia and of course North America) in thirteen different countries. He has played previously professionally in Australia (Breakers), China (Christmasnan), Dominican Republic (Marineros, Plaza, Dosa and Pueblo Nuevo), Mexico (Santos), Philippines (Hotshots), Puerto Rico (Capitanes, Cangrejeros and Mets), Taiwan (Yulon Luxgen), Turkey (Galatasaray and Ormanspor), Uruguay (Bigua), Venezuela (Cocodrilos), NBA (Indiana Pacers), NBA G League (Indiana Mad Ants) and The Basketball Tournament (Boeheim's Army).
Among many awards he played in the final of Venezuelan SLB in 2022. He was voted to D-League All-Star Game back in 2016.
