IBL Round 33 (Regular Season): Leader Dewa United gets another victory

There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in IBL. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Leader Dewa United delivered the twenty third win on Saturday night. This time they beat 7th ranked Bali Utd. (12-14) 93-79 in Denpasar. Dewa United outrebounded Bali Utd. 44-33 including 31 on the defensive glass. Dewa United looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. The best player for the winners was international center Lester Prosper (209-1988, college: Old Westbury, agency: YoungGroup Unlimited) who had a double-double by scoring 30 points and 12 rebounds. American forward Jordan Adams (194-1994, college: UCLA) chipped in 24 points and 10 rebounds. Dewa United's coach Santiago Rimoldi used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Xavier Cannefax (184-1989, college: WPU, agency: Interperformances) who recorded 27 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists. Dewa United (23-3) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place. Bali Utd. lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 14 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
The game in Denpasar was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Pelita Jaya (20-4) played at the court of 7th ranked Bali Utd. (12-14). Pelita Jaya defeated Bali Utd. 89-75. It was a good game for American forward KJ McDaniels (197-1993, college: Clemson) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. James Dickey III contributed with 24 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American center Kierell Green (203-1997, college: Edinboro) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds for Bali Utd.Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Pelita Jaya maintains second place with 20-4 record having five points less than leader Dewa United. Bali Utd. lost their third game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 14 games lost. Pelita Jaya's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Jakarta to the arena Kesatria BS.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Sakti, where 10th ranked Hangtuah (9-16) lost to thirteenth ranked Bima Perkasa (5-20) in a road game 84-93 on Sunday. Garrius Holloman stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. The best for the losing side was Thomas De Thaey with 21 points and 6 rebounds. Hangtuah's coach Andika Supriadi rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Bima Perkasa maintains thirteenth place with 5-20 record. Hangtuah at the other side keeps the tenth position with 16 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Other games of round 33 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Prawira defeated Tangerang in Bandung 78-63. Bottom-ranked Pacific Caesar was smashed by Pelita Jaya at home 65-98. Rans Pik won against Bima Perkasa on the opponent's court 89-85. Satya Wacana lost to defending champion Prawira in a home game 78-100.



Tangerang - Prawira 63-78

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Tangerang (6-18) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Prawira (17-5) 78-63 on Wednesday. Prawira outrebounded Tangerang 49-35 including a 36-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Dominican Brandone Francis (194-1994, college: Texas Tech) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and American center James Gist (206-1986, college: Maryland) chipped in 11 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks. Four Prawira players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Steven Green (196-1993, college: OKBU) with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and British center Morakinyo Williams (209-1988, college: Citadel) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place. Tangerang lost their third game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 18 games lost. Prawira will meet bottom-ranked Pacific Caesar (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tangerang will play against Kesatria BS in Jakarta and hope to secure a win.

Pelita Jaya dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Pacific Caesar's 14. Pelita Jaya forced 23 Pacific Caesar turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Pacific Caesar's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Pelita Jaya made 8 blocks. The game was dominated by American players. Forward KJ McDaniels (197-1993, college: Clemson) stepped up with a triple-double by scoring 26 points, 12 rebounds, 11 assists and 5 blocks for the winners and power forward James Dickey III (208-1996, college: UNCG) chipped in 19 points and 18 rebounds.
