The most exciting game of round 16 in the IBL took place in Bandung. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 6th ranked Prawira (6-4) to seventh ranked Rans Pik (7-4) 82-79 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Prawira. American LeBryan Nash (198, college: OK State) fired a double-double by scoring 21 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Dutch-British guard Devon Van Oostrum (190-1993, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Dominican Brandone Francis (194-1994, college: Texas Tech) produced 29 points for lost side. Prawira's coach David Singleton rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Rans Pik moved-up to fifth place. Defending champion Prawira dropped to the seventh position with four games lost.
Undefeated leader Dewa United delivered the eleventh consecutive victory. This time they crushed 6th ranked Bali Utd. (7-7) 113-81 in Surabaya. Worth to mention a great performance of international center Lester Prosper (209-1988, college: Old Westbury, agency: YoungGroup Unlimited) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. Gelvis Solano contributed with 15 points and 12 assists for the winners. American center Kierell Green (203-1997, college: Edinboro) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists for Bali Utd.The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated Dewa United (11-0) have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 11 victories in a row. Bali Utd. lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with seven games lost. Dewa United will again play against Bali Utd. (#6) in Denpasar in the next round where they are favorite. Bali Utd. will have a break next round.

Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth place with eight games lost. Dewa United will meet at home Bali Utd. (#6) in the next round where they are favorite. Rajawali will have a break next round.

In the last two games of round 16 Kesatria BS defeated Hangtuah in Jakarta 91-84. Satria Muda was beaten by Satya Wacana at home 68-84.




Hangtuah - Kesatria BS 84-91

There was no surprise in Jakarta where 9th ranked Hangtuah (5-6) was defeated by third ranked Kesatria BS (9-1) 91-84 on Saturday. Strangely Hangtuah outrebounded Kesatria BS 52-40 including a 21-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Kesatria BS looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of Kentrell Barkley (194-1996, college: ECU, agency: Haylett Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 5 assists and center C.J. Gettys (213-1994, college: Rutgers, agency: Haylett Sports) who added 26 points, 16 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. Kesatria BS's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Nick Faust (197, college: LBSU) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds and center Ronald Delph (213-1993, college: FAU) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds. Kesatria BS have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Newly promoted Kesatria BS maintains third position with 9-1 record having just three points less than leader Dewa United. Hangtuah at the other side keeps the ninth place with six games lost. Kesatria BS's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Jakarta to the arena Satria Muda.

Worth to mention a great performance of American Tyree Robinson (196-1995, college: A&M-Commerce) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import point guard Isaac Asrat (182-1997, college: LCU) who added 19 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists during the contest. Four Satya Wacana players scored in double figures. Satya Wacana's coach Jerry Lolowang used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side the former international guard Abraham Grahita (180-1995) responded with 23 points and international guard Dame Diagne (197-2005) scored 8 points and 7 rebounds. Satya Wacana maintains twelfth position with 3-10 record. Satria Muda at the other side keeps the fourth place with five games lost. Satya Wacana will meet higher ranked Hangtuah (#9) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Satria Muda's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Jakarta Kesatria BS.
