IBL Round 17 (Regular Season): Kesatria BS defeat Satria Muda in the closest game of the week

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game of round 17 in the IBL took place in Jakarta. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 4th placed Satria Muda (8-5) to third ranked Kesatria BS (9-1) 69-66 in the game for the third place. 27 personal fouls committed by Satria Muda helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American Kentrell Barkley (194-1996, college: ECU, agency: Haylett Sports) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and his fellow American import center CJ Gettys (213-1994, college: Rutgers, agency: Haylett Sports) chipped in 16 points and 16 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). American forward Myke Henry (198-1992, college: DePaul) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Kesatria BS have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Newly promoted Kesatria BS maintains third place with 9-1 record having just three points less than leader Dewa United. Satria Muda at the other side keeps the fourth position with five games lost.
IBL top team - Dewa United (11-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Bali Utd. (7-7) in Surabaya 113-81. International center Lester Prosper (209-1988, college: Old Westbury, agency: YoungGroup Unlimited) nailed a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winning side and Gelvis Solano accounted for 15 points and 12 assists. American center Kierell Green (203-1997, college: Edinboro) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists for Bali Utd. in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the eleventh consecutive win for Dewa United. They maintain first place with 11-0 record. Bali Utd. lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth position with seven games lost.

In the last two games of round 17 Pelita Jaya won against Borneo on the opponent's court 98-80. Hangtuah managed to outperform Satya Wacana in a home game 90-81.



Borneo - Pelita Jaya 80-98

Very expected game in Pontianak where 11th ranked Borneo (4-9) was defeated by second ranked Pelita Jaya (10-1) 98-80. Pelita Jaya outrebounded Borneo 41-30 including 30 on the defensive glass. Pelita Jaya players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American center Thomas Robinson (203-1991, college: Kansas) nailed a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and the former international guard Anthony Beane (188-1994, college: SIU, agency: Pensack Sports) accounted for 15 points. American forward Steve Taylor Jr (206-1993, college: Toledo) came up with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 18 rebounds and 8 assists and the other American import guard Michael Qualls (197-1994, college: Arkansas) added 19 points respectively for Borneo in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Pelita Jaya. They maintain second place with 10-1 record behind leader Dewa United. Borneo at the other side keeps the eleventh position with nine games lost.

Hangtuah - Satya Wacana 90-81

Rather predictable result in Jakarta where ninth ranked Hangtuah (5-6) defeated 12th ranked Satya Wacana (3-10) 90-81. Hangtuah shot 32 for 44 from the free-throw line, while Satya Wacana only scored thirteen points from the stripe. Hangtuah players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Satya Wacana was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Americans were the main players on the court. Nick Faust (197, college: LBSU) nailed 37 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds for the winning side and center Ronald Delph (213-1993, college: FAU) accounted for 24 points and 21 rebounds. Tyree Robinson (196-1995, college: A&M-Commerce) came up with a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Isaac Asrat (182-1997, college: LCU) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists respectively for Satya Wacana in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hangtuah maintains ninth place with 5-6 record. Satya Wacana at the other side keeps the twelfth position with ten games lost.
