IBL Round 13 of Regular Season

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most interesting game of round 13 was a home defeat of 6th ranked Rajawali (6-5) by fifth ranked Bali Utd. (7-4) who outscored them by 16 points 82-66. Bali Utd. outrebounded Rajawali 51-32 including a 40-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Bali Utd. looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Center Kierell Green (203-1997, college: Edinboro) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 20 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners and forward Xavier Cannefax (184-1989, college: WPU, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 23 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. At the losing side guard Jabari Bird (198-1994, college: California) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bali Utd. maintains fifth place with 7-4 record. Newly promoted Rajawali dropped to the seventh position with five games lost.
The game in Gor Merpati was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Pelita Jaya (8-1) played at the court of 6th ranked Rans Pik (6-4). Pelita Jaya did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 85-67. American-Filipino forward Justin Brownlee (197-1988, college: St.John's) nailed a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and Thomas Robinson accounted for 14 points and 11 rebounds. American Joshua Caldwell (203-1991, college: William Penn) came up with 20 points and 6 rebounds for Rans Pik in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Pelita Jaya have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Rans Pik at the other side keeps the sixth position with four games lost.

In the last two games of round 13 Bima Perkasa lost to Rans Pik on the opponent's court 80-92. Tangerang unfortunately lost to Hangtuah in a home game 75-85.



Rans Pik - Bima Perkasa 92-80

Very expected game in Gor Merpati where 12th ranked Bima Perkasa (1-10) was defeated by sixth ranked Rans Pik (6-4) 92-80. Rans Pik players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. American LeBryan Nash (198, college: OK State) nailed a triple-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists for the winning side and Dutch-British guard Devon Van Oostrum (190-1993, agency: Octagon Europe) accounted for 15 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. American Brandis Raley-Ross (189-1987, college: S.Carolina) came up with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists (made all of his eight free throws) and the other American import forward Garrius Holloman (198, college: BCU, agency: Diamond Sports) added 13 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Bima Perkasa in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Rans Pik maintains sixth place with 6-4 record. Bima Perkasa lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with ten games lost. They share it with Pacific Caesar.

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when tenth ranked Hangtuah (4-5) defeated on the road 9th ranked Tangerang (4-5) 85-75. Hangtuah players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Zoran Talley (198-1994, college: Iowa St.) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and Nick Faust (197, college: LBSU) accounted for 21 points and 6 rebounds. Talley is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Forward Xavier Alexander (196-1988, college: Philander Smith) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds and 9 assists and center Amir Williams (211-1992, college: Ohio St.) added 19 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Tangerang in the defeat. Five Hangtuah and four Tangerang players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hangtuah moved-up to ninth place, which they share with defeated Tangerang.

Pelita Jaya did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 85-67. Pelita Jaya dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Rans Pik's 34. Pelita Jaya forced 19 Rans Pik turnovers and outrebounded them 51-31 including a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Pelita Jaya players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American-Filipino forward Justin Brownlee (197-1988, college: St.John's) nailed a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and American center Thomas Robinson (203-1991, college: Kansas) accounted for 14 points and 11 rebounds. Brownlee is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Five Pelita Jaya players scored in double figures.
