IBL Round 8 (Regular Season): Rans Pik lose their first game against Kesatria BS

The most surprising game was the first loss of Rans Pik (4-1) in Jakarta on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by seventh ranked Kesatria BS (3-1) 78-72. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Rans Pik. Worth to mention a great performance of American Kentrell Barkley (194-1996, college: ECU, agency: Haylett Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points, 23 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import center Taylor Johns (197, college: UC Riverside) who added 18 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. American Le'Bryan Nash (198, college: OK State) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kesatria BS have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place. Rans Pik at the other side keeps the second position with one game lost. They share it with Pelita Jaya and Bali Utd..
Satya Wacana has finally registered their first victory this season after four consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Borneo (0-6) 66-64. Americans were the main players on the court. The winners were led by Tyree Robinson (196-1995, college: A&M-Commerce) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds and Mikey Henn supported him with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Satya Wacana's coach Jerry Lolowang allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even a double-double of 17 points and 19 rebounds by center Travion Leonard (203-1993, college: Barry, agency: Interperformances) did not help to save the game for Borneo. Satya Wacana (1-4) left bottom position moving up to eleventh place, which they share with Bima Perkasa. It was Borneo's sixth loss in a row. They still close the standings with six games lost.
IBL top team - Dewa United (5-0) managed to deliver another win on Sunday. This time they beat fifth ranked Rajawali (4-2) in Jakarta 86-71. The best player for the winners was Jordan Adams who scored 25 points and 6 assists. Wendell Lewis produced 21 points for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Undefeated Dewa United have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-0 record. Newly promoted Rajawali keeps the fifth place with two games lost.

In the last two games of round 8 Prawira lost to Bali Utd. on the opponent's court 66-77. Bima Perkasa unfortunately lost to Satria Muda in a home game 80-85.



Bali Utd. - Prawira 77-66

Rather expected game in Denpasar where 7th ranked Prawira (2-3) was defeated by fifth ranked Bali Utd. (4-1) 77-66 on Saturday. Bali Utd. dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Prawira's 30. Bali Utd. looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. The best player for the winners was center Kierell Green (203-1997, college: Edinboro) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 19 rebounds. Forward Xavier Cannefax (184-1989, college: WPU, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 22 points. Cannefax is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Bali Utd. players scored in double figures. Point guard Christian James (194-1996, college: Oklahoma) produced 23 points and 8 rebounds and Dane Miller (198, college: Rutgers) added 8 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Bali Utd. moved-up to second place, which they share with Pelita Jaya and Rans Pik. Defending champion Prawira dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. They share it with Hangtuah and Tangerang.

International guard Dame Diagne (197-2005) chipped in 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. American guard Martyce Kimbrough (186-1996, college: Findlay, OH) produced 12 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import forward Garrius Holloman (198, college: BCU, agency: Diamond Sports) added 18 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Satria Muda maintains seventh position with 3-2 record.
