IBL Round 2 (Regular Season): Bima Perkasa lose to Bali Utd.

There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in IBL. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Bima Perkasa in Denpasar on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by Bali Utd. 80-50. Bali Utd. had a 36-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was point guard Abraham Wenas (174-1996) who scored 19 points and 7 assists. American center Kierell Green (203-1997, college: Edinboro) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Brazilian center Feliciano Perez (210-1990) produced 13 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bali Utd. are looking forward to face Rans Pik in Gor Merpati in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bima Perkasa will play at home against Dewa United and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
Important game to mention about took place in Bandung. Prawira saved a 2-point victory at home edging Kesatria BS 64-62 on Sunday evening. The game was dominated by American players. Dane Miller (198, college: Rutgers) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Christian James contributed with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Kentrell Barkley (194-1996, college: ECU, agency: Haylett Sports) replied with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists for Kesatria BS. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

In the last two games of round 2 Tangerang defeated Pacific Caesar in a road game 81-67. Satria Muda lost to undefeated Dewa United at home 92-101.

There was no surprise in Surabaya where Pacific Caesar was defeated by Tangerang 81-67. Tangerang shot 24 for 36 from the free-throw line, while Pacific Caesar only scored eight points from the stripe. American forward Xavier Alexander (196-1988, college: Philander Smith) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 17 rebounds and 7 assists. The other American import guard Augustus Stone (191-1997, college: St.Thomas, FL) contributed with 23 points for the winners. Canadian forward Stephen Hurt (211-1993, college: Kansas St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and American point guard Jaylyn Richardson (189-1998, college: WOU) added 23 points and 7 assists in the effort for Pacific Caesar. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tangerang will play against Borneo in Pontianak in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pacific Caesar will have a break next round.

Satria Muda - Dewa United 92-101

There was a small surprise in Jakarta where Dewa United defeated Satria Muda 101-92. Dewa United made 23-of-28 charity shots (82.1 percent) during the game, while Satria Muda only scored three points from the stripe. They outrebounded Satria Muda 52-33 including a 38-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Dewa United players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Satria Muda was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Jordan Adams (194-1994, college: UCLA) orchestrated the victory by scoring 34 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 9 assists (was perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line !!!). Dominican point guard Gelvis Solano (185-1994, college: Merrimack, agency: BMS Sport Agency) contributed with 19 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals for the winners. American point guard Trey Davis (180-1993, college: UMass) replied with 28 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and his fellow American import center Jarred Shaw (211-1990, college: Utah St.) added 17 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Satria Muda. Four Dewa United and five Satria Muda players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dewa United will play against Bima Perkasa in Sakti in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Satria Muda's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Jakarta to the arena Pelita Jaya.
