IBL Round 46: Prawira edge Pelita Jaya by two points

The most exciting game of round 46 in the IBL took place in Bandung. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of their biggest opponent Pelita Jaya (23-3) to third ranked Prawira (23-3) 84-82 in the game for the second place. It ended at the same time the 17-game winning streak of Pelita Jaya. 28 personal fouls committed by Pelita Jaya helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American center Jarred Shaw (211-1990, college: Utah St.) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. International point guard Yudha Saputera (176-1998) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. American swingman Dominique Sutton (193-1986, college: NCCU) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds for lost side. Pelita Jaya's coach Djordje Jovicic tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Prawira have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Pelita Jaya.
Important game to mention about took place in Pontianak. Sixth ranked Rans Pik (17-9) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 7th ranked Bumi Borneo (13-13) 61-59 on Sunday evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American Akeem Ellis (196-1990, college: Coppin St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds. Alexander Franklyn contributed with 8 points and 4 assists for the winners. American power forward Cameron Ridley (206-1993, college: Texas) replied with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 17 rebounds and 5 blocks for Bumi Borneo. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Rans Pik moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Dewa United. Bumi Borneo at the other side keeps the seventh position with 13 games lost.
Leader Satria Muda delivered the twenty fifth victory on Sunday night. This time they beat 12th ranked WBS (8-17) 69-54 in Jakarta. Juan Kokodiputra scored 15 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. At the losing side Sevly Rondonuwu responded with 28 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Satria Muda (25-1) have an impressive 14-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position. WBS lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 17 games lost.

In the last game of round 46 Evos Bogor defeated Bima Perkasa in a road game 70-60.




Bima Perkasa - Evos Bogor 60-70

There was an upset in Sakti where higher ranked Bima Perkasa (17-10) was defeated by thirteenth ranked Evos Bogor (8-18) 70-60 on Sunday. American forward Andre Jackson (199-1994, college: Bowie St., agency: Elevate Sports Alliance) had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American-Jamaican center David Haye (183-1994, college: SUNY Delhi) chipped in 7 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Haye is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American Cameron Coleman (198-1992, college: York, NE, agency: Elevate Sports Alliance) responded with 23 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Victory Lobbu (175-2001) scored 11 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Evos Bogor maintains thirteenth position with 8-18 record. Loser Bima Perkasa dropped to the sixth place with ten games lost.

Leader Satria Muda delivered the twenty fifth victory on Sunday night. This time they beat 12th ranked WBS (8-17) 69-54 in Jakarta. Satria Muda dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to WBS's 22. They outrebounded WBS 52-31 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international Juan Kokodiputra (193-1995) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Arki Wisnu (187-1988) chipped in 7 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side point guard Sevly Rondonuwu (173-1996) responded with 28 points and point guard Christian Gunawan (175-1994) scored 5 points and 5 steals. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Satria Muda (25-1) have an impressive 14-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position. WBS lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 17 games lost.
