IBL Round 38: No surprise as #1 Satria Muda defeat Pacific Caesar

IBL top team - Satria Muda (20-1) had no problems winning another game on Monday. This time they crushed sixteenth ranked Pacific Caesar (2-20) in Jakarta 97-64. Satria Muda dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Pacific Caesar's 38. They outrebounded Pacific Caesar 47-32 including 16 on the offensive glass. Satria Muda looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American forward Rick Jackson (206-1989, college: Syracuse) scored 18 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Arki Wisnu (187-1988) chipped in 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. British center Morakinyo Williams (209-1988, college: Citadel) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Satria Muda have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 20-1 record. Pacific Caesar lost twelfth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 20 lost games. Satria Muda are looking forward to face Satya Wacana (#15) in Salatiga in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Pacific Caesar will play at home against NSH and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Jakarta was also worth to mention about. Seventh ranked Bumi Borneo (11-10) played at the court of 8th ranked Indonesia P. (9-13). Bumi Borneo defeated Indonesia P. 84-71. American point guard Randy Bell (193-1998, college: Dalton St.) notched a double-double by scoring 13 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the effort and Calvin Chrissler supported him with 22 points. Even 18 points and 8 rebounds by forward Karl Utiarahman (188-2003) did not help to save the game for Indonesia P.. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bumi Borneo maintains seventh position with 11-10 record. Indonesia P. lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Bali Utd.. Bumi Borneo will play against league's second-placed Prawira in Bandung in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Indonesia P.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Jakarta to the arena WBS.
The game in Gor Merpati was also quite interesting. Second ranked Prawira (19-2) played at the court of 6th ranked Rans Pik (13-8). Prawira managed to secure a 9-point victory 97-88 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was Jarred Shaw who had a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds. Akeem Scott produced a double-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Prawira have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 19-2 record behind leader Satria Muda, which they share with Pelita Jaya. Rans Pik at the other side keeps the sixth place with eight games lost. Prawira will meet Bumi Borneo (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Rans Pik will play against Evos Bogor and hope to secure a win.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 38: Evos Bogor won against Hangtuah on the opponent's court 77-74. Bima Perkasa outscored WBS in a home game 75-53. Tangerang managed to beat NSH on the road 86-72. Satya Wacana was crushed by Pelita Jaya on its own court 64-89. Bali Utd. smashed Dewa United in Denpasar 98-67.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 25 points and 7 assists by Jay Bowie of Bali Utd..
