Best players of Indonesian IBL round 32 (by Hoops Agents)- March 16, 2023
The 26-year old playmaker had the game-high 29 points adding nine rebounds and four assists for NSH in his team's victory, helping them to beat Evos Bogor (5-13) 66-55. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings. Thanks to this victory NSH moved-up to the 13th position in Indonesian IBL. The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. NSH have already lost 13 games and recorded just five victories. In the team's last game Newkirk had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be NSH's top player in his first season with the team. Shavar Newkirk averages this season 17.1ppg and 5.8rpg. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American Cameron Coleman (198-SF-1992, agency: Elevate Sports Alliance) of Bima Perkasa. Coleman impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 35 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Bima Perkasa lost that game 75-84 to slightly higher-ranked Rans Pik (#5, 11-5). This loss caused Bima Perkasa to drop to 6th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 11-6 record is not bad and everything may still change. Coleman is a newcomer at Bima Perkasa and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.8ppg (#4). He also registered 7.7 boards per game. The third best performed player last round was American Dominique Sutton (193-G/F-1986) of Pelita Jaya (#3). Sutton scored 13 points and grabbed seventeen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Pelita Jaya, leading his team to a 74-67 win against the lower-ranked Bumi Borneo (#7, 10-8). Pelita Jaya is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 15-2 record is not that bad... Sutton has a great season in Indonesia. After 15 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 11.1rpg (2nd best). Other top performing players last week: 4. Andre Rorimpandey (177-G-1996) of NSH - 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists 5. Akeem Scott (180-SG-1983) of Rans Pik - 18 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists 6. Roscoe Smith (206-F-1991) of Rans Pik - 15 points, 16 rebounds and 3 assists 7. Fatur Shihab (183-SF-1999) of Rans Pik - 14 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists 8. Cameron Ridley (206-C/F-1993) of Bumi Borneo - 16 points and 6 rebounds 9. Arki Wisnu (187-SF-1988) of Satria Muda - 16 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists 10. Muhamad Arighi (182-G-1999) of Pelita Jaya - 16 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
