IBL Round 32: Satria Muda keep a leadership position

The games are now more important than at the beginning of the Regular Season. We may still expect few shocking results in upcoming 3 rounds. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Satria Muda as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Satria Muda defeated 9th ranked WBS in Jakarta 74-69. Satria Muda dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to WBS's 20. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Laurentius Oei (195-1994) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 5 rebounds and the former international Arki Wisnu (187-1988) who added 16 points during the contest. Guard Rio Disi (185-1992) responded with 23 points and 6 assists. Satria Muda have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. WBS at the other side keeps the ninth place with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

The winners were led by American point guard Shavar Newkirk (179-1996, college: St.Joseph's) who scored that evening 29 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals and Andre Rorimpandey supported him with 12 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Even 7 points and 12 rebounds by American forward Andre Jackson (199-1994, college: Bowie St., agency: Elevate Sports Alliance) did not help to save the game for Evos Bogor. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. NSH moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Evos Bogor and Tangerang. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

In the last two games of round 32 Bumi Borneo lost to Pelita Jaya on the opponent's court 67-74. Bima Perkasa unfortunately lost to Rans Pik in a home game 75-84.



Pelita Jaya - Bumi Borneo 74-67

Very expected game in Jakarta where 7th ranked Bumi Borneo (10-8) was defeated by third ranked Pelita Jaya (15-2) 74-67. Pelita Jaya made 25-of-33 charity shots (75.8 percent) during the game. Pelita Jaya outrebounded Bumi Borneo 43-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. Bumi Borneo was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by American swingman Dominique Sutton (193-1986, college: NCCU) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 13 points and 17 rebounds and guard Muhamad Arighi (182-1999) supported him with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Four Pelita Jaya players scored in double figures. Even 16 points and 6 rebounds by American power forward Cameron Ridley (206-1993, college: Texas) did not help to save the game for Bumi Borneo. His fellow American import point guard Randy Bell (193-1998, college: Dalton St.) added 15 points and 4 steals for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Pelita Jaya have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Prawira. Bumi Borneo at the other side keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Bima Perkasa - Rans Pik 75-84

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Sakti where sixth ranked Rans Pik (11-5) defeated 5th ranked Bima Perkasa (11-6) 84-75. Rans Pik dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Bima Perkasa's 22. They outrebounded Bima Perkasa 52-37 including a 41-29 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by American forward Roscoe Smith (206-1991, college: UNLV) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds and Jamaican-American Akeem Scott (180-1983, college: High Point) supported him with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Scott is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even a double-double of 35 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 4 assists by American Cameron Coleman (198-1992, college: York, NE, agency: Elevate Sports Alliance) did not help to save the game for Bima Perkasa. Ikram Fadhil (187-1998) added 8 points and 11 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Rans Pik moved-up to fifth place.
