IBL Round 12: Bumi Borneo is upset by Dewa United

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most important game in the last round took place in Surabaya between third ranked Bumi Borneo (5-2) and fourth ranked Dewa United (6-1) on Wednesday night. Bumi Borneo was crushed by Dewa United on the road 81-60. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Dewa United outrebounded Bumi Borneo 50-38 including 19 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American Anthony Johnson (203-1988, college: Fairfield) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import guard Ramon Galloway (190-1991, college: La Salle) chipped in 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Cameron Ridley (206-1993, college: Texas) who recorded 14 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Dewa United moved-up to second place, which they share with Pelita Jaya. Bumi Borneo at the other side dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. They share it with Rans Pik. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Bottom-ranked Satya Wacana (0-7) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 76-60 loss to seventh ranked Rans Pik (5-2) in Salatiga. It was a good game for Jamaican-American Akeem Scott (180-1983, college: High Point) who led his team to a victory with 14 points and 4 assists. Valentino Wuwungan contributed with 10 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American forward Shemar Johnson (204-1996, college: Stillman) replied with 20 points and 7 steals for Satya Wacana. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rans Pik have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Bumi Borneo. Satya Wacana at the other side still closes the standings with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
The game in Jakarta was also quite interesting. Sixth ranked Prawira (5-1) played at the court of 8th ranked WBS (3-4). Prawira did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 100-82 on Wednesday. Worth to mention a great performance of Brandone Francis who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was Prince Williams with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Prawira have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Bima Perkasa. Loser WBS keeps the eighth position with four games lost. They share it with Indonesia P.. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

In the last game of round 12 Tangerang defeated Evos Bogor in a road game 63-54.



Dewa United - Bumi Borneo 81-60

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 13th ranked Evos Bogor's (1-6) home loss to twelfth ranked Tangerang (2-4) 54-63 on Wednesday. Worth to mention a great performance of Jamaican-American center Anthony Allen (210-1992, college: OK State) who helped to win the game recording 8 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists and Danny Ray (181-1997) who added 19 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was American-Jamaican center David Haye (183-1994, college: SUNY Delhi) with 13 points and 5 assists and Rheza Butarbutar (193-2000) scored 7 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Tangerang moved-up to tenth place. Evos Bogor lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth position with six games lost. They share it with NSH. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Prawira looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by WBS's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Dominican Brandone Francis (194-1994, college: Texas Tech) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international point guard Yudha Saputera (176-1998) who added 16 points and 9 assists during the contest. Five Prawira players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American-Liberian guard Prince Williams (195-1992, college: ECU) with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Rio Disi (185-1992) scored 13 points and 7 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Prawira have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Bima Perkasa.
