IBL Round 9: Leader Satria Muda gets another victory

Undefeated leader Satria Muda delivered the fifth consecutive win on Sunday night. This time they crushed 11th ranked Hangtuah (1-4) 106-53 in Jakarta. Satria Muda dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Hangtuah's 10 and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Satria Muda forced 21 Hangtuah turnovers and outrebounded them 51-25 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Hangtuah's players. The best player for the winners was American forward Elijah Foster (197-1996, college: Nevada) who scored 21 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). The former international Juan Kokodiputra (193-1995) chipped in 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was British forward Joe Mvuezolo (197-1996, college: Montana St.) who recorded 15 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated Satria Muda (5-0) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with a perfect record of 5 victories in a row.
