White Team wins 2022 All-Star Game, Shavar Newkirk named MVP- April 7, 2022
White Team celebrated victory in 2022 All-Star Game held in Jakarta. They outscored Red Team 102-100 in the exciting matchup. Shavar Newkirk (183-PG-1996, college: St.Joseph's) was named the MVP. White Team grabbed a 31-24 lead after the first period. They extended the lead to as many as 11 points at the big break. Red Team narrowed the deficit to 4 points in the third term. The gap grew thinner in the fourth period but White Team held on to the lead and eked out a narrow win following a late jumper from Abraham Grahita (180-PG-1995). Shavar Newkirk finished with 26 points, while Abraham Grahita contributed 15 points. Randy Bell (193-PG-1998, college: Dalton St.) responded with 25 points, while Tyree Robinson (196-F, college: A&M-Commerce) added 26 points for the Red Team. Jarron Crump (183-PG-1992, college: Pacific Union) celebrated victory in the Slam Dunk Contest.
