Best players of Indonesian IBL round 14- April 11, 2021
The 30-year old had a double-double of 22 points and twelve rebounds, while his team beat Hang Tuah (#6, 2-14) 75-67. Thanks to this victory Bali Utd. moved-up to the 4th position in Indonesian IBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Bali Utd. will need more victories to improve their 9-7 record. In the team's last game Surliyadin had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Bali Utd., being already a very valuable addition to the team. Surliyadin has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 9.0rpg) and averages solid 64.6% FGP. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 24-year old guard Abraham Wenas (175-G-96) of Hang Tuah. Wenas impressed basketball fans with 27 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Hang Tuah lost that game 67-75 to slightly higher-ranked Bali Utd. (#4, 9-7). Hang Tuah managed to keep the same 6th spot in Group White. 14 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Hang Tuah managed to get this year. Wenas is one of the most experienced players at Hang Tuah and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. The third best performed player last round was American forward Jamarr Johnson (193-F-88) of second-ranked Louvre S.. Johnson scored 20 points and grabbed seventeen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Louvre S., leading his team to a 68-62 win against the lower-ranked NSH (#5, 4-12). Louvre S. needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in Group Red. Their record at this point is 10 victories and 6 lost games. Johnson has a great season in Indonesia. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.0ppg (best scorer) and rebounds with 11.6rpg (#1 in league). He also has 1.6bpg and FGP: 54.2%. Jamarr Johnson has also Indonesian passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player. Other top performing players last week: 4.
