Indonesian IBL round 8 best performance: Kevin Poetiray

Point guard Kevin Poetiray (186-PG-95) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for top-ranked Louvre S., receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 25-year old player was the main contributor (31 points, eight rebounds and five assists) to his team's victory, helping them to crush Pacific Caesar (#6, 1-8) with 20-point margin 80-60. It allowed Louvre S. to consolidate first place in the Indonesian IBL. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Louvre S. has a very solid 7-2 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game Poetiray had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Louvre S. and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Kevin Poetiray has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 18.7ppg) and averages impressive 50.5% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was another Louvre S.'s star - 32-year old American forward Jamarr Johnson (193-F-88). Johnson had a very good evening with a double-double of 23 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Louvre S. lost that game 70-77 to slightly lower-ranked Pelita Jaya (#2, 6-1). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in Group Red. Louvre S. still maintains its place as the top team in the standings, even despite this loss. His team has currently 7-2 record. Johnson is one of the most experienced players at Louvre S. and similarly like Kevin Poetiray has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.8ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 11.9rpg and 3.4apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was guard Azzaryan Pradhitya (181-SG-92) of Bima Perkasa (#4). Pradhitya scored 20 points and passed six assists. Despite Pradhitya's great performance Bima Perkasa lost 70-75 to #3 ranked Bali Utd.. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The chances of Bima Perkasa ranking at the top of Group Red, however are very questionable as they have already lost 5 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Pradhitya could help Bima Perkasa to bring them higher in the standings. Pradhitya has a great season in Indonesia. After only 9 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 15.7ppg (4th best) and assists with 4.1apg (6th best).
