IBL Round 17: No surprise as #1 Indonesia P. defeat Louvre S.

Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

IBL top team - Indonesia P. (11-2) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Louvre S. (6-7) in Surabaya 84-62. They outrebounded Louvre S. 53-38 including a 40-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Indonesia P. looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Louvre S.'s players. The former international point guard Andakara Dhyaksa (173-92) stepped up and scored 21 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners and British V.Islands center Lester Prosper (210-88, college: Old Westbury) chipped in 19 points and 13 rebounds. American point guard Martavious Irving (186-90, college: Kansas St.) responded with 22 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Indonesia P. have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Newly promoted Indonesia P. maintains first place with 11-2 record. Louvre S. lost fourth consecutive game. Louvre S. at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. Indonesia P. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Louvre S.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Surabaya to the arena Pacific Caesar.

American forward Anton Waters (201-93, college: WKU) nailed a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and Luis Jacobo accounted for 23 points and 10 rebounds. Serbian forward Filip Pejovic (198-89, college: Erskine, agency: Interperformances) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds for Bima Perkasa in the defeat. Pacific Caesar maintains sixth place with 5-7 record. Bima Perkasa lost their third game in a row. They keep the seventh position with eight games lost. They share it with Prawira. In the last two games of round 17 Pelita Jaya won against Satya Wacana on the opponent's court 72-67. Satria Muda managed to outperform Hang Tuah in a home game 83-79.



Satya Wacana - Pelita Jaya 67-72

Very expected game in Salatiga where 10th ranked Satya Wacana (2-9) was defeated by second ranked Pelita Jaya (10-2) 72-67. American forward Dior Lowhorn (201-87, college: USF) nailed a double-double by scoring 29 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and point guard Reggie Mononimbar (185-95) accounted for 11 points and 6 rebounds. Pelita Jaya's coach Octaviarro Tamtelahitu allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American swingman Chris Sterling (196-93, college: Ariz.Christian) came up with 23 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import guard Montrell Williams (193-92, college: Arkansas Tech) added 21 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Satya Wacana in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Pelita Jaya. They maintain second place with 10-2 record behind leader Indonesia P. Satya Wacana lost their fifth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Very predictable result in Jakarta where fourth ranked Satria Muda (8-4) defeated 9th ranked Hang Tuah (3-10) 83-79. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Satria Muda dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Hang Tuah's 46. Americans were the main players on the court. Forward Elijah Foster (203-96, college: Nevada) nailed a double-double by scoring 31 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and guard Gary Jacobs (188-92, college: Cent.Washington) accounted for 26 points and 9 rebounds. Foster is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Power forward Emilio Parks (198-93, college: JCSU) came up with 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and LaQuavius Cotton (198-92, college: Delta St.) added 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Hang Tuah in the defeat. Hang Tuah's coach Andika Supriadi rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Satria Muda. They maintain fourth place with 8-4 record.
