IBL Round 12 of Regular Season

IBL is at the halfway of the Regular Season and there are still another 12 rounds left. Coincidentally all hosts won their games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The biggest surprise took place in Surabaya where host Louvre S. (6-3) beat league's leader Pelita Jaya (7-2) 92-81 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Pelita Jaya. Louvre S. looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Savon Goodman (198, college: Shaw) who scored 23 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Michael Kolawole (196, college: Lamar, agency: Haylett Sports) chipped in 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Dior Lowhorn (201-87, college: USF) who recorded a double-double by scoring 31 points and 17 rebounds. Pelita Jaya's coach Octaviarro Tamtelahitu rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Louvre S. maintains fourth position with 6-3 record. Pelita Jaya at the other side dropped to the second place with two games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Indonesia P.. Pelita Jaya will play next round against Pacific Caesar trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Louvre S. will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked NSH in Jakarta.
The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Indonesia P. as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Indonesia P. smashed 8th ranked Satya Wacana in Jakarta 105-67. It was a good game for British V.Islands center Lester Prosper (210-88, college: Old Westbury) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 20 rebounds and 6 assists. Abraham Grahita contributed with 25 points and 5 assists for the winners. American swingman Chris Sterling (196-93, college: Ariz.Christian) replied with 15 points and 6 rebounds for Satya Wacana. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Indonesia P. have a solid three-game winning streak. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Satya Wacana at the other side keeps the eighth place with six games lost. Satya Wacana will play next round against Hang Tuah trying to get back on the winning streak. Indonesia P. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Bandung, where 6th ranked Pacific Caesar (4-4) lost to ninth ranked Prawira (2-7) in a road game 70-78 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of William Tinsley who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 18 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Luis Jacobo with 22 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Prawira maintains ninth position with 2-7 record. Loser Pacific Caesar keeps the sixth place with four games lost. Prawira will meet at home higher ranked Bima Perkasa (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Pacific Caesar will play against the league's second-placed Pelita Jaya where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.

In the last game of round 12 Bima Perkasa was defeated by NSH in Jakarta 60-55.



Louvre S. - Pelita Jaya 92-81

Indonesia P. - Satya Wacana 105-67

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Indonesia P. as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Indonesia P. smashed 8th ranked Satya Wacana in Jakarta 105-67. Indonesia P. made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Indonesia P. outrebounded Satya Wacana 49-20 including a 36-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Satya Wacana's players. It was a good game for British V.Islands center Lester Prosper (210-88, college: Old Westbury) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 20 rebounds and 6 assists. NSH - Bima Perkasa 60-55

There was no surprise in Jakarta where 7th ranked Bima Perkasa (3-6) was defeated by third ranked NSH (6-2) 60-55 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Michael Glover (203-87, college: Iona) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import guard Dashaun Wiggins (188-91, college: Portland St.) who added 12 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. NSH's coach Wahyu Widayat used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Mali-American forward Mamadou Diakite (196-93, college: Immaculata) with 17 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Devin Gilligan (196-93, college: S.New Hampshire) scored 7 points and 9 rebounds. NSH maintains third position with 6-2 record having 2 victories less than leader Indonesia P. Loser Bima Perkasa keeps the seventh place with six games lost. NSH will meet Louvre S. (#4) in the next round. Bima Perkasa will play against Prawira in Bandung and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

We should mention about the upset which took place in Bandung, where 6th ranked Pacific Caesar (4-4) lost to ninth ranked Prawira (2-7) in a road game 70-78 on Saturday. Prawira outrebounded Pacific Caesar 44-29 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard William Tinsley (198-97, college: Illinois St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 18 rebounds and American-Jamaican power forward David Samuels (203-91, college: LBSU) who added 15 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Four Prawira players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American-Dominican swingman Luis Jacobo (196-91, college: PFW) with 22 points and American forward Anton Waters (201-93, college: WKU) scored 6 points and 15 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Prawira maintains ninth position with 2-7 record.
