IBL Round 11: Pelita Jaya keeps a leadership position- February 8, 2020

Bima Perkasa - Prawira 81-78 A very close game took place in Sakti between Bima Perkasa and Prawira. Seventh ranked Bima Perkasa (3-5) got a very close home victory over 9th ranked Prawira (1-7). Bima Perkasa managed to escape with a 3-point win 81-78 on Friday evening. The best player for the winners was American forward Devin Gilligan (196-93, college: S.New Hampshire) who scored 23 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Mali-American forward Mamadou Diakite (196-93, college: Immaculata) chipped in 13 points. Diakite is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard William Tinsley (198-97, college: Illinois St.) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import guard Dimitri Cook (188, college: SUNO) added 16 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Bima Perkasa maintains seventh place with 3-5 record. Prawira lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with seven games lost. Bima Perkasa will meet higher ranked NSH (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Prawira will play against Pacific Caesar (#6) and hope to win that game. Fifth ranked Satria Muda (5-4) played at the court of 7th ranked Satya Wacana (2-5). Satria Muda did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 78-59. Satria Muda dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Satya Wacana's 28. They outrebounded Satya Wacana 53-37 including a 42-31 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Gary Jacobs (188-92, college: Cent.Washington) who led the winners and scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international Avan Seputra (189-94) accounted for 13 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Jacobs is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Satria Muda players scored in double figures. American guard Montrell Williams (193-92, college: Arkansas Tech) came up with 24 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import swingman Chris Sterling (196-93, college: Ariz.Christian) added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Satya Wacana in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Satria Muda maintains fifth place with 5-4 record. Satya Wacana at the other side dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. Satria Muda will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Satya Wacana will play on the road against the league's second-placed Indonesia P. (#2) in Jakarta and hopes to get back on the winning track. (5-3) crushed at home 10th ranked Hang Tuah (1-8) by 21 points 99-78, which is the biggest margin this round. Louvre S. outrebounded Hang Tuah 50-32 including 18 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American forward Savon Goodman (198, college: Shaw) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 17 rebounds and 4 blocks. His fellow American import guard Michael Kolawole (196, college: Lamar, agency: Haylett Sports) contributed with 24 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. American LaQuavius Cotton (198-92, college: Delta St.) answered with 21 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks and guard Abraham Wenas (175-96) added 20 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Hang Tuah. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Louvre S.. Despite that victory Louvre S. went down to fourth position due to points difference. Hang Tuah lost their eighth game in a row. They stay at the bottom place with eight games lost. Louvre S.'s next round opponent will be league's leader Pelita Jaya in Jakarta and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Pelita Jaya defeated 5th ranked NSH in Jakarta 78-70. 24 personal fouls committed by NSH helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for forward Dior Lowhorn (201-87, college: USF) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds. Michael Murray (196-91, college: Coppin St.) helped adding 27 points and 5 assists. Power forward Michael Glover (203-87, college: Iona) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and guard Dashaun Wiggins (188-91, college: Portland St.) scored 17 points and 4 assists. Four NSH players scored in double figures. NSH's coach Wahyu Widayat rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Pelita Jaya (7-1) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. NSH at the other side dropped to the third place with two games lost. NSH will play next round against Bima Perkasa trying to get back on the winning streak. Pelita Jaya will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Louvre S. in Surabaya.
