IBL Round 7: Pacific Caesar lose to NSH- February 1, 2020

NSH - Pacific Caesar 90-81 The game between second ranked Pacific Caesar (3-2) and fifth ranked NSH (3-1) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Pacific Caesar was defeated by NSH in a tough game in Jakarta 81-90. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Pacific Caesar. It was a key game for the second position in the league. They outrebounded Pacific Caesar 47-35 including 18 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Michael Glover (203-87, college: Iona) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points and 21 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Jordan Madrid-Andrews (203-94, college: Richmond) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. NSH's coach Wahyu Widayat used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American-Dominican swingman Luis Jacobo (196-91, college: PFW) answered with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and American-Filipino guard Taylor Statham (198-92, college: CS San Bernar.) added 18 points in the effort for Pacific Caesar. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. NSH have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Pelita Jaya. Pacific Caesar at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with Satria Muda. NSH's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Jakarta to the arena Indonesia P.. Satria Muda players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Hang Tuah's players. It was a great evening for American forward Elijah Foster (203-96, college: Nevada) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds. The former international Juan Kokodiputra (194-95) helped adding 14 points and 9 rebounds. Foster is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American LaQuavius Cotton (198-92, college: Delta St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Abraham Wenas (175-96) scored 14 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Four Hang Tuah players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Satria Muda moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Pacific Caesar. Hang Tuah lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with five games lost. Satria Muda will play against Prawira (#9) in Bandung in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Hang Tuah will play at home against Pelita Jaya to get more than just one victory in their record. It was a great evening for naturalized American Brandon Jawato (193-93, college: Hawaii) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. British V.Islands center Lester Prosper (210-88, college: Old Westbury) helped adding 23 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side Mali-American forward Mamadou Diakite (196-93, college: Immaculata) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds and American forward Devin Gilligan (196-93, college: S.New Hampshire) scored 24 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Indonesia P. have a solid series of four victories in a row. Newly promoted Indonesia P. maintains first place with 5-1 record. Bima Perkasa at the other side keeps the seventh position with three games lost. Indonesia P.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Jakarta NSH.
