The most exciting game of round 17 in the IBL took place in Bandung. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed Hang Tuah (5-6) to second ranked Garuda (7-5) 77-75 in the game for the second place. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Hang Tuah. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was point guard Gary Jacobs (188-92, college: Cent.Washington) who scored 30 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Power forward Roderick Flemings (203-87, college: Hawaii, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 22 points and 22 rebounds. Guard Keenan Palmore (185-94, college: Lenoir-Rhyne) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Garuda maintains second place with 7-5 record having three points less than leader Satria Muda. Hang Tuah at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. Garuda will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hang Tuah will play on the road against the league's leader Satria Muda in Jakarta and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Fifth-ranked Siliwangi (0-12) made lots of trouble for second ranked Pacific Caesar (8-3) in Bandung. The visitors from Surabaya managed to secure only three-point victory 83-80. However their fans expected easier game. American forward Anton Waters (201-93, college: W.Kentucky) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 17 rebounds. David Seagers contributed with 23 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. American guard Darnell Brown-II (190-90, college: Bowling Green) answered with 39 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists for Siliwangi. Siliwangi's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Pacific Caesar have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 8-3 record having just three points less than leader Satria Muda. Siliwangi at the other side still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Pacific Caesar will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Siliwangi will play on the road against Satya Wacana (#4) in Salatiga and hopes to get finally their first victory.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Jakarta: Pelita Jaya (#1) and NSH (#5). Pelita Jaya (11-0) crushed visiting NSH (0-11) by 31 points 79-48. Wayne Bradford stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Jason Carter responded with 19 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated Pelita Jaya have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 11-0 record. Loser NSH still closes the standings with 11 games lost. Pelita Jaya will meet Stapac (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. NSH will play against Bima Perkasa and looks forward to get finally their first victory.

Satya Wacana's next round opponent will be Siliwangi (#5) in Bandung. Bima Perkasa will play on the road against NSH in Jakarta and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
