Future Kids win both U-14 Titles in Hyderabad School League - Feb 14, 2019

Future Kids were crowned champions in both boys and girls categories in the under-14 category in the Greater Hyderabad inter-school basketball league that was held at Sreenidhi International School.

Chirec International emerged winners in the under-11 boys and girls category.

The finals were graced by KT Mahhe, chairman Sreenidhi Education Group, Shiba Maggon, India's National Women senior basketball coach and Norman Isaac, general secretary Telangana Basketball Association.

Maggon said that this is the first inter-school basketball league in India for the under-11 and under-14 category. If we want to have a strong Indian team in the future, we need to start right from the beginning. I'm excited about this project and I wish to see it getting bigger,'' she said.

The inaugural league saw teams such as Rockwell, Sreenidhi, Indus, St Anthony's, Sancta Maria, Chirec, Oakridge, Silver Oaks, Future Kids registering for the league in its first year.

Sancta Maria and St Anthony's boys and girls respectively secured the runners up trophies and Sreenidhi came third in the under-11 category.

Individual winners: Most valuable player (U-11 boys): Saharsh Maheshwar of Sancta Maria with 42 points in the league. Most valuable player (U-11 girls): Arpeeta Hazra of St Anthony with 42 points in the league. Most valuable player (U-14 boys): Pranav Varma of Sreenidhi with 127 points in the league. Most valuable player (U-14 girls): Driti Reddy with 36 points in the league.
