UBA League is at the halfway of the Regular Season and there are still another 6 rounds left. Coincidentally all hosts won their games.

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Mumbai Ch. (2-1) in Amritsar on Tuesday night. Visitors were edged by Punjab S. (2-1) 125-123. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Mumbai Ch.. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts trailed by 11 points after three quarters before their 38-25 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Punjab S. made 27-of-31 free shots (87.1 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 Mumbai Ch. turnovers. Strangely Mumbai Ch. outrebounded Punjab S. 42-22 including a 29-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 27 personal fouls committed by Mumbai Ch. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Dermaine Crockrell (185-89, college: Bemidji St.) scored 51 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 5 assists (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and international point guard Akilan Pari (180-89) chipped in 10 points and 8 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Alex Scales (192-78, college: Oregon) with 33 points (!!!) and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Punjab S. keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Mumbai Ch. Punjab S. is looking forward to face Haryana G. (#4) in Chandigarh in the next round. Mumbai Ch. will play on the road against Delhi C. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

American guard Ronald March (196-93, college: Philander Smith) notched a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and Janbandhu Vinay supported him with 32 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Delhi C.'s coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 36 points (!!!), 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals by American guard De'Sean Mattox (185, college: E.Oregon) did not help to save the game for Haryana G.. Delhi C. keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Haryana G. at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with Bengaluru. Delhi C. will play against league's leader Mumbai Ch. at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Haryana G. will play against the league's second-placed Punjab S. and hopes to get finally their first victory.

Delhi C. - Haryana G. 107-99

The game between Top Four teams took place in Delhi. Second ranked host Delhi C. (2-1) defeated 4th ranked Haryana G. (0-3) 107-99. The hosts were already 11 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 36-33 Haryana G.'s run in the last quarter cut the lead to 107-99 at the end of the game. Delhi C. made 29-of-36 charity shots (80.6 percent) during the game. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Haryana G. was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch.
