Indian Railways extended their dominance in the Indian basketball. They celebrated the 26th title in the last 28 editions of the National Championship. Indian Railways overcame Tamil Nadu to clinch Gold. Anna Jose Geethu (185-C-85) was unstoppable with 50 points and 16 boards for the winners. Indian Railways and Tamil Nadu stayed close throughout the first quarter. The defending champions secured a 24:21 lead after ten minutes. The margin grew in the second quarter. Indian Railways opened an 11-point advantage at the interval 52:41. They managed to clear off in the third term. Indian Railways entered the fourth frame up by 21 points 79:58. They kept Tamil Nadu at distance throughout the final quarter and earned another title at the end. Anju Lakra (164-G-83) posted 14 points, while Anitha Kumari delivered 13 points for Indian Railways. R.Raja Priyadharshini answered with 23 points for Tamil Nadu. Apoorva Murlinath (179-F-89) chipped in 19 points and pulled down 17 boards in the defeat.
