Hong Kong Eastern Long Lions (D1) tabbed 33-year old American power forward Trey Gilder (206-100kg-85, college: Northwestern State). He played in the summer at Panteras in Venezuelan LPB league. In 13 games he averaged impressive 26.5ppg, 6.2rpg, 4.1apg and 1.1spg. Gilder helped them to win the regular season and make it to the semifinals. He can count that season as a very successful as was awarded Latinbasket.com All-Venezuelan LPB Player of the Year, Latinbasket.com All-Venezuelan LPB Imported Player of the Year and selected to 1st Team. He also played for Rafael Barias (TBS) in league where in 9 games he had very remarkable stats: 18.8ppg, 6.7rpg, 2.0apg and 1.1bpg. The other team Gilder played shortly was Panteras (also in LPB). He contributed to his team winning the regular season and make it to the semifinals. A very impressive season as he was awarded Latinbasket.com All-Venezuelan LPB Player of the Year, Latinbasket.com All-Venezuelan LPB Imported Player of the Year and selected to 1st Team.
In 2008 Gilder was drafted by Colorado 14ers (D-League) in second round (31st overall).
He attended Northwestern State and it will be his eleventh (!!!) season in pro basketball.
