China claimed the Gold medals at the East Asian Games in Tianjin. Shao Ting (183-F-89) scored 20 points and grabbed 8 rebounds to pace the hosts.
China left Hong Kong behind in the starting quarter. They registered a 26:9 lead after the opening frame. China dominated in the second period. The hosts piled up a 46:19 halftime lead. China boosted the gap in the third term. They accumulated a comfortable 64:27 advantage at the final intermission. China held Hong Kong to just 4 points in the fourth term and sealed the winning outcome. Ma XueYa (190-C/F-93) had 13 points, while Li Meng (185-F-95) netted 12 points in the victory. Cheuk Ting replied with 13 points for Hong Kong. Tsz-Ching Wong delivered 5 points in the defeat.
