Hong Kong registered the first win at the U18 Asia Championship. They toppled Kazakhstan in Level II opener. Ka Yee Wong delivered 25 points to lead the winners.
Hong Kong piled up an 18:13 lead after ten minutes. They exploded with 30 points in the second quarter to take a 48:24 halftime lead. Hong Kong maintained the lead throughout the third period. They ensured a 68:41 advantage at the final break. Hong Kong did not slow down in the fourth frame and raced to a comfortable win at the end. Tsz Kwan Li accounted for 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Wai Pang Chan had 12 points in the win. Dinara Moldakhmetova replied with 13 points and 14 rebounds for Kazakhstan. Darya Li netted 12 points in the loss.
