Hong Kong opened win count at U16 Asia Championship in Jinan. They overcame Singapore in Level II game. Leung Wai Ming notched 21 points to pace the winners.
Hong Kong pulled ahead early in the game and recorded a 16:8 lead after ten minutes. They maintained the lead throughout the second quarter. Hong Kong ensured a 34:20 halftime advantage. Hong Kong continued to dominate after the big break. They never allowed Singapore any closer in the reminder of the contest and sealed the victory at the end. Stephanie Hellbach accounted for 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Wai Ping Chan had 12 points and 21 rebounds in the win. Zhi Yan Amanda Lim delivered 11 points for Singapore. Iffah Imran and Freda Zhi Yun Chua netted 8 points each in the loss.
