China recorded the third win at the 2009 East Asian Games in Hong Kong. Earlier today China rolled past Hong Kong to improve at 3-1 record on top of the preliminary round standings. Shi Xiufeng (178-G-87) notched 22 points to lead the charge for the winners. Hong Kong in the meantime suffered the fourth straight defeat to remain winless.
China silenced the hosts right from the start. The visitors exploded with 37 points in the starting quarter to gain a 30-point lead ten minutes into the encounter. China maintained control in the second frame and ballooned the margin at 43-point mark at halftime. Hong Kong simply had no answers to the onslaught as it continued in the second half. China easily built an 84:22 advantage before the fourth quarter. Hong Kong came up with no response and China cruised to the win at the end.
Chen Xiaojia (177-G-88) and Wei Wei (207-C-89) delivered 14 points apiece for China. Zhang Wei (184-G/F-86) knocked down 19 points in the victory. Yap Yuen Yee (83) scored 8 points for Hong Kong. Yau Ka Wai (78) top-scored with 9 points for the home team.
