U16 Hong Kong beats U16 Singapore for the first win in Pune

U16 Singapore - U16 Hong Kong 47-72

Hong Kong grabbed valuable victory in Day 3 of U16 FIBA Asia Championship in Pune. Both teams faced with huge defeats in the first two games and this one was very important for them. Hong Kong managed to win and to improve its score on 1-2 in Group A. Ka Yee Wong stepped up for her team netting 19 points. Man Sze Wong helped with 9 points and 6 rebounds. In Singapore, Zi Qi Chua Violet scored 9 and Hui Min Tok had 8 pts.
Opening ten minutes were pretty leveled with neither team making a bigger lead. Still, it was Singapore who held 13-12 after 10 minutes. In the second period Hong Kong improved its offensive plays. At the same time they intensified defense stopping Singapore on 10 pts for the quarter. They drained 18 for plus 7 at the HT. In the second half Hong Kong was way better team. At the beginning of this stanza they jumped to first double-digit lead and never looked back after that.
In Day 4, Hong Kong will take on strong India. Singapore will meet powerful China.
