Fukien inks Khydarius Smith, ex Targu Jiu

Khydarius Smith

Fukien (D1) signed 24-year old American power forward Khydarius Smith (203cm-116kg-2001, college: UMBC) for the upcoming 2025-26 season. He was the second-best scorer at Targu Jiu in the Romanian Liga I last season, with impressive stats: 18.8ppg, 8.5rpg, 1.4apg, 1.4spg, and 1.9bpg. Smith helped his team win the Liga I title. In the 2024-25 season, he was voted Eurobasket.com All-Romanian Liga I Import Player of the Year, Eurobasket.com All-Romanian Liga I Defensive Player of the Year, and Eurobasket.com All-Romanian Liga I Player of the Year.
Smith graduated from UMBC in 2024 and it will be his second season as a pro player. He played for USC Upstate for 4 years.
