C.J. Gettys (ex Indios) signs at Flying Eagle

C.J. Gettys

Chongde Flying Eagle (D1) signed 31-year-old American 213cm center C.J. Gettys (college: Rutgers, agency: Haylett Sports) for the new season. He last played for Indios in the LNB league in the Dominican Republic. In 7 games he averaged 8.3ppg, 5.7rpg, 2.0apg, and 1.3bpg last season. He also played for X-Rayted in the U.S. semi-pro league The Basketball Tournament. Another team he briefly played for was Indios de San Francisco (LNB) in the Dominican Republic.
Gettys is a very experienced player, having played in eight different countries on four continents during his pro basketball career. He has played in European, Asian, Latin American, and North American leagues. Gettys has played professionally in the Dominican Republic, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore, Spain, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, and The Basketball Tournament. He played in the final of the Hong Kong League in 2025.
Among many awards, he was voted to Asia-Basket.com All-Indonesian IBL Honorable Mention in 2024.
Gettys graduated from Rutgers University in 2017 and it will be his ninth season in pro basketball. He played also for University of North Carolina Wilmington for 4 years.
